Frequently asked questions

At Dental at Lake Haven, we offer a comprehensive range of services including preventive dental services, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery.

We can help with dentures, implants, dental cleaning, tooth extractions, teeth whitening, dental fillings, root canals, tooth crowns, bridges and veneers, as well as sport mouthguards and splints.

At Dental at Lake Haven, we offer both traditional braces and Invisalign clear aligner treatments. We can prescribe and fit braces in a range of colours for patients of virtually all ages.

Or, if you prefer a more subtle option, our Invisalign aligner treatment can help to gradually realign your teeth. It is recommended to wear Invisalign up to 22 hours a day to gain the best results. Appointments should be arranged for adjustments every 5 – 6 weeks.

We understand that dental appointments can be a source of great anxiety. That’s why we go to great lengths to ensure a comfortable, anxiety-free experience for our patients.

This includes a warm, inviting environment, empathetic staff and the use of modern technology to ensure procedures are as comfortable as possible. Please inform our staff ahead of time if you have dental anxiety and we will answer any questions and concerns you may have.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend that patients schedule a check-up every six months. Regular visits allow us to monitor your oral health, offer professional cleaning to remove tartar build-up and conduct early detection of potential issues.

However, the frequency may vary depending on individual needs and conditions. For instance, people with a high risk of dental disease might want to visit us more frequently. During your appointment at Dental at Lake Haven, we’ll provide personalised advice based on your unique situation.

At Dental at Lake Haven, we use HICAPS and accept all major health funds. We are preferred providers for HCF and WestFund.

Determining a suitable orthodontic treatment involves thoroughly assessing several factors, including your dental issues, lifestyle and budget.

Dentists typically evaluate teeth, jaw alignment and overall oral health during the initial consultation to suggest suitable treatment options. For more information, .

The duration can vary widely depending on the complexity of the case and the type of orthodontic treatment.

Traditional braces may take around 18 to 24 months. On the other hand, clear aligners may take a shorter or longer period, depending on the severity of the alignment issues. Regular visits to your dentist for adjustments and check-ups are important for monitoring progress.

For braces, brush and floss carefully around the brackets and wires to maintain good oral hygiene. Avoiding sticky or hard foods is also important, as these can damage the braces.

For aligners, clean them regularly using a soft brush and mild soap. Also, avoid hot water, which can warp the plastic. When not in use, store your aligners in their case to keep them safe. Our dentists on the Central Coast will provide you with detailed care instructions.
