Orofacial Myology Therapy
What is Myology?
Orofacial Myology is the study that involves the evaluation and treatment of the oral and facial muscles, including the muscles of the tongue, lips, cheeks, and jaw. It also involves assessment of the airways including the tonsils and adenoids.
The development and alignment of a child’s teeth and jaw rely on correctly breathing, tongue position and posture.
Specialised Therapy
We offer personalised exercises in combination with other methods which retrain the muscles to help the body function correctly throughout the day and sleeping throughout the night.
It’s important to look for signs of mouth breathing in children, so the problem can be corrected before it worsens. A child who breathes constantly through the mouth, especially during sleep, delivers cold, unfiltered, dry air to the lungs and that’s only part of the problem.
